"The kingdom of God is within you." - Christ Jesus

If the kingdom of God, or heaven,  is within you, it is not a place.  It is a mental state within individual spiritual consciousness and a
present possibility when the Science of Being is understood.
Who is Mary Baker Eddy and why is it important to know who she is to understand Christian Science?
Mary Baker Eddy was the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, author of Science and Health with Key to
the Scriptures
and other writings on Christian Science.  In all her writings, she states that Christian Science came
to her through revelation with
The Bible as her only textbook; that she is "... the revelator to this age of the immortal
truths testified to by Jesus and the prophets." (Miscellany - P.vii, L.7-9)  Since revelator and revelation is one, Mary
Baker Eddy, the revelator, is at one with her revelation, Christian Science, and both must be understood to fully
demonstrate Christian Science.  The life experiences that led Mary Baker Eddy to the discovery of Christian
Science testify to her absolute trust and radical reliance on God to complete her mission despite extreme
challenges and relentless opposition.  There are many
biographies written about the life and healing mission of
Mary Baker Eddy but she emphatically stated that you will find her in her writings.  For an introductory
autobiography, read
Retrospection and Introspection, also found in Prose Works, where she recorded the
experiences which led her to the discovery of the system she denominated as Christian Science.

What exactly is Christian Science, its textbook - Science and Health - and how is it relevant to the world
today?
Christian Science is the discovery of a science, the Science of Being (Read The Great Revelation - Retrospection
and Introspection), and with  the extensive and formidable record of healings that have been authenticated and
verified in many of her biographies and books on Christian Science,
Mary Baker Eddy fully tested and proved her
discovery.  She also taught many students how to heal, often what were deemed incurable diseases and
hopeless conditions, based on her understanding and demonstration of this science.  The beacon which led to
this discovery was her recovery in 1866 from a near fatal injury which was pronounced incurable by an attending
physician.  Bedridden and with The Bible as her only textbook, the revelation came to her that God is eternal Life,
her life, the sole reality of all existence; that Life is Principle, the same Principle that Christ Jesus understood and
demonstrated 2000-plus years ago in his healing works, for example, when he raised Lazarus from the grave,
proving that Life, Lazarus' life, is God.  Based on the premise that this Principle is universal fixed law which is
demonstrable when understood, Mary Baker Eddy wrote and published the first edition of
Science and Health
With Key to the Scriptures
in 1875.  It is the complete textbook on how to study, understand and demonstrate the
Science of Being that was revealed to her.  This book, although denominated as a Christian Science textbook, is
written for all sincere seekers of the truth because truth is universal.  Today, if this Science of Being is studied
individually and collectively, the unity of God, man and the universe would be understood as a present reality, and
in this oneness of being, all is harmonious and eternal.

If, according to the Christian Science perspective, God is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, omniactive
good, what about all the evil that is going on in our world today?
Christian Science does not ignore evil or all phases of human discord that is going on in our world today but it
starts with the foundation that God is infinite, therefore God is all; that God is infinite Spirit, therefore His creation -
man and the universe -
is, not shall be, spiritual;  that God is good and God is all, therefore all is good.  All evil
originates from the universal belief that there is more than one mind or intelligence, resulting in another belief that
there is more than one power, whereas from the Christian Science perspective, there is only one Mind, one
Creator/creation, one Lawgiver, one substance, one Ego, one Life, one Being, one power, one cause and effect.
Since God is universal Mind, consciousness is fundamental and the source of what we accept as thought
constitutes our experience
.  From the dualistic perspective that believes in more than one mind and one power,
evil is very real, powerful and destructive.  From the perspective that understands that there is only one Mind and
one power, evil is a negation, or individual/collective belief in the absence of God/good which is impossible
because God/good is infinite Spirit filling all space; therefore, all is good and evil exists only as a suppositional lie
about God's omnipresence and a lie only has power if it is believed, individually or collectively, to be true.
